May 2012 - One Stop Festival Promotes the Eco Action Partnership "Love Your Tent" Campaign
The campaign is to highlight the number of tent left behind at summer festival each year. Whilst it is true that some Round Table and Scout groups do collect tent left at the V festival many at sent straight to landfill. In fact 12,000 tents were abandoned at IOW festival in 2011, meaning 1 In 6 people left their tent behind. It took 485 man hours to dismantle and stack the tents left behind most of which were sent to land fill as recycling facilities for tent components do not current exist.
So lets all work together to be responsible festival goers in 2012. Let's take that 10 minutes to pack up our tent and take it home to use again. Think of the money you'll be saving that could go towards more great festival memories next time. Lets start having history with our tents and start to LOVE YOUR TENT not LEAVE YOUR TENT.

May 2011 - UK Music Industry report on The Contribution of music festivals & major concerts to Tourism in the UK
Jason Thorpe Director of One Stop Festival has recently been quoted in the UK music industry report on the effects of music festivals and tourism. On page 26 of the report Jason explains the reason behind the launch of the company back in 2007 and how service and giving customers what they want are the keys to the companies continued growth and success. The report makes the following interesting conclusions
Drawing on unprecedented access to more than 2.5m anonymised ticketing transactions, the report's main findings are as follows:
- Large-scale live music across all regions of the UK attracts at least 7.7m attendances by domestic and overseas music tourists
- Collectively they spend £1.4bn during the course of their trip
- This is a positive contribution of £864m (GVA) to the national economy and equivalent to 19,700 full-time jobs
- Although 5% of all music tourists come from overseas, they contribute 18% of total music tourist spending
Full report can be reviewed here.
